Study the stages of development of a common insect in the lab: the mealworm (Tenebrio molitor).
Illustrate "the changes in the organisation and functioning of an animal over time" with this fun PW that you can set up as you please by selecting the resin inclusion plate of 3 stages of mealworms (recommended for the teacher's work station): larva, nymph and mealworm and corresponding individual slides (student work stations).
Observe the development stages of the mealworm using a stereo microscope, then draw and label the observations.
Combine the observation of slides with the breeding of your mealworms used to measure respiration.
