This PASCO polarimeter has Bluetooth® and USB connectivity at the same time, so it works on iPad®, Chromebook ™, and PC. It is ideal for organic chemistry experiments. The polarised light is transmitted through a sample to an analyser and a detector.
The concentration of a sugar solution is then determined on the basis of the optical rotation of the polarised light.
