This model makes it possible to reveal the difference in thermal conductivity between two materials. We will use two plates of identical dimensions: one in aluminium and the other in plastic.
Two similar ice cubes will be placed on the two plates but will have a different behaviour, because of the different thermal conductivity of the two materials.
Plates will be placed in plastic boxes to collect water.

Composition:

• 1 aluminium plate, thickness 1 mm
  
• 1 plastic plate, thickness 1 mm
  
• 2 plastic boxes in which the plates will be placed
